Subject: decentralization: don't bunch up
Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2017 23:14:05 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20170922231411-dont-bunch-up@all> (raw)

A gentle reminder to anybody considering organizing or attending
a conference for Free Software projects or any common goal:
Shit happens.

Whether it be an earthquake, nuclear meltdown, bombing, volcano,
tsunami, planes falling out of the sky or any other disaster;
don't bunch up so a significant portion of you get taken out
by a solitary event. Life can change or end at an instant.

Sure, any individual member of a team could be hit by disaster
at any time, but let's not make it easy for ALL of us to be
taken out by the same disaster.

There is no room for optimism in engineering.
