- Try to run your program in DOSBOX to compare. I have programs which
run in one but not in the other.

- Check in the boot.log (in .dosemu)

- There are settings in /etc/dosemu/dosemu.conf which can make
the boot.log more verbose (and maybe more helpful)

- As dosemu crashes, maybe   strace dosemu   can give you some
interesting info.
