Hi,
I'm setting up linux 2.2 on a Presario 721 and am
having trouble getting my xserver to start, at least I
assume that is why startx crashes. Does someone know
what xserver I need to install? The video chipset is
a VIA KN133, which according to the VIA site has
"integrated S3 graphics ... ". I found in my
distribution an xserver-s3 and so installed that.
I'm not even sure if the xserver is the problem. My
monitor resolution is 1024x768. I selected that with
75 Hz refresh.
If someone knows what xserver I need, that would at
least narrow my troubleshooting permutations down by a
factor of 10 (the number of xservers I have
avaialable.)
Any other tips, for example a completed XF86Config
file for Presario 721 ;) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Damon
