That script was a bit buggy.  The good one is:

$ git log prehistory-backwards \
   | grep ^commit \
   | cut -f2 -d' ' \
   | while read hash; do
           rm -rf *;
           git checkout $hash -- . \
        && git add . \
        && git commit --reuse-message=$hash;
   done;
